Chelsea Bramlett CORDOVA, TENN. > Softball Bramlett, a junior catcher at Mississippi State, was named to the USA Softball women's national team after earning All-America honors for the third straight year. She led NCAA Division I in stolen bases with a season-record 54 and also holds the school's single-game (five) and career (146) records. She was fourth in the nation in batting (.486).

Daniel Engle
TALENT, ORE. > Golf
Daniel, a senior at Phoenix High, shot consecutive rounds of 67 to win the state Class 4A title by 12 strokes and set the tournament record with a 10-under-par 134. No other golfer in any class finished under par. It was the fourth year that he made it into the top 10 of the individual competition; he helped his team finish fourth this year.

Ebony Eutsey
MIAMI > Track and Field
Ebony, a junior at Miami Southridge High, won the 400 meters at the Nike Outdoor Nationals with the fastest time (52.07) in the nation by a high school female this year. Earlier she won the Florida Class 4A 400 title (52.68) for the third consecutive time and the 200 (24.06) for the second time in three years.

Connor Hyde
PETERBOROUGH, N.H. > Tennis
Connor, a senior at ConVal Regional High, won the state Class I singles championship, taking the final, 6--2, 6--0. In five rounds of the tournament he lost only four games; in 13 regular-season matches he dropped two games. Connor finished with a 53--2 career regular-season record and will play for the University of Redlands next year.

Danielle Schmidt
COTTAGE GROVE, MINN. > Softball
Danielle, a senior at New Life Academy, set a state all-class tournament record for strikeouts (55) in leading the Eagles to their second straight Class 1A title. In the quarterfinals she set an all-class record for strikeouts in a game (32) and drove in the winning run in the 11th inning. She pitched a no-hitter in the semifinals and a shutout in the final.

Gabriel Duran
BROOKLYN > Baseball
Duran, a sophomore at Dowling College, was named NCAA Division II pitcher of the year by college baseball writers after leading the Golden Lions to their first D-II World Series; he threw a three-hitter to beat then No. 1 UC San Diego. Duran was third in the nation in ERA (1.30) and set a school record for wins (10).
