Block That Punt The Titans' A.J. Trapasso punted both on the field and on the giant high-def screen at the new Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, last Friday during Tennessee's 30--10 loss to Dallas. Another boot by Trapasso hit the scoreboard and forced the down to be replayed (page 17). The screen hangs 90 feet above the field, five feet higher than the NFL minimum.

United Wie Stands
Michelle Wie played with two patriotic decals on her face—a U.S. flag and a red, white and blue starburst—last Friday in Sugar Grove, Ill., during the first day of the 2009 Solheim Cup, which pits U.S. golfers against Europeans. Wie went 3-0-1 as the U.S. won the three-day competition 16--12 at Rich Harvest Farms for its third consecutive victory.

First In 10
Trey Hardee of the U.S. took gold in the decathlon at the IAAF track and field world championships in Berlin last Thursday. Hardee, who did not finish the event at the Beijing Olympics (he was disqualified after three faults in the pole vault), had his best throw of the year in the discus (157'9") and won the competition with a total of 8,790 points, 150 more than silver medalist Leonel Suárez of Cuba.

Bug's-Eye View
A praying mantis alighted on the upper-deck railing at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia last Thursday night as the Phillies played the Diamondbacks. The insect evidently brought luck to the home team, which won 12--3.
