Moore, the women's crew coach at Williams, guided the U.S. Junior national team's women's eight to a gold medal at the World Rowing Junior Championships and a berth in the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore next August. Last spring Williams was undefeated and won its fourth consecutive NCAA Division III title, Moore's fifth in 11 years at the school.

ESSEX, ENGLAND > Field Hockey

Sherer, a senior forward at Connecticut, led the Big East with 19 goals through Sunday and became the first field hockey player to earn conference player of the week honors for four consecutive weeks. She helped the Huskies to an 11--1 start with hat tricks against No. 20 Michigan, Providence and Quinnipiac and is in the top five in the nation in scoring, with 1.58 goals per game.
