ENEMY LINES | A RIVAL SCOUT ON THE NETS
They're going to struggle without Vince Carter, who gave them good leadership and production last year. I don't think they can win 30 games, but they have a nice young core with Devin Harris, Brook Lopez and Courtney Lee....Harris was a better player than I thought he'd be. What may keep him from being the player everybody wants on their team is that he can be a little bit selfish in the heat of the moment. He is going to lose some respect among his teammates if he's complaining to the ref and using it as an excuse to not get back on defense....Lee plays all out at both ends. He is an excellent shooter, though he can be defended—he isn't going to demand a double team. He could turn into a Raja Bell type.... When things weren't going well for Yi Jianlian last year and it become clear the expectations were too high, he looked like he was wondering what the problem was, and whether he was good enough. He looked liked a one-dimensional player, a shooter with deep range—and no confidence. I just don't see him as a starter for a playoff contender....[Forward] Sean Williams will break your heart. For every good thing he does, he'll do two things that are bad.
