At age 76, longtime pro wrestler and manager Lou Albano (below). Captain Lou spearheaded the so-called rock 'n' wrestling phenomenon in the 1980s, when pro wrestling enjoyed its broadest crossover success. Sporting a goatee bound by rubber bands, Albano was one of the World Wrestling Federation's most recognizable characters. He managed 15 tag-team champions and appeared in several TV shows and music videos—most notably Cyndi Lauper's 1984 chart-topping Girls Just Want to Have Fun, which led to Lauper's managing a female wrestler in a match aired live on MTV.
