Things I Think I Think

SI's fearless NFL expert opines on all the latest news, buzz and inside information. This is just a taste of what you'll get online.

1 I think Jake Delhomme (below) seemed resigned to his fate after Carolina's 20--9 loss to the Bills. With Delhomme's three picks and zero touchdowns—running his season totals to 13 INTs and four TDs—coach John Fox probably has no choice but to bench the 12-year vet. How bad does the Panthers' trade last year of their 2010 first-rounder for linebacker Everette Brown look now?

2 I think I might have overrated the impact of the extra-low scoreboard in Dallas. In three regular-season games at Cowboys Stadium there have been no direct hits to the board—though Falcons punter Michael Koenen did boot one just to the right of it on Sunday.

3 I think that despite the Giants' loss to the Cardinals, the diving fourth-quarter catch by tight end Kevin Boss, who knew that he was about to get ear-holed by Arizona safety Antrel Rolle, gets my vote as the second-best grab of the season. It's right behind Greg Lewis's tip-toe job in the back of the end zone to help the Vikings beat the 49ers in Week 3.
