YANKEES BY THE NUMBERS

1.40 ERA for Phil Hughes, the lowest in the majors among those with at least 50 innings pitched and the lowest for a Yankee by someone other than Mariano Rivera since Fred Beene's 1.23 in 1973.

237 HOME RUNS hit at the new Yankee Stadium, the most of any stadium and the most ever hit in the Bronx in a year.

103 REGULAR-SEASON wins for the Yankees in 2009, extending their major league record for most 100-win seasons to 19. The only other franchise with double-digit, 100-win seasons is the Athletics (10).

6 PLAYOFF series-clinching wins by Andy Pettitte in his career, a major league record.

15 WALK-OFF wins in the regular season by the Yankees, the most in the majors and the most for the franchise since World War II. Nine players had game-ending hits.

3 SWITCH HITTERS—Mickey Mantle, Tony Fernandez and Melky Cabrera—to hit for the cycle as a Yankee. Cabrera's cycle came in Chicago on Aug. 2 and was the first for New York since Fernandez's in '95.

2 PLAYERS—Don Baylor and now Eric Hinske—who have appeared in three straight World Series with three different teams.

3 FORMER Yankees players to have also managed the Yankees to a World Series title: Ralph Houk, Billy Martin and Joe Girardi.
