Dodge's car's the fastest car NASCAR's ever seen I'll paint it Petty blue That's what I'll do just like 43 Richard had a part in the movie, and I got to know him pretty well. On his last day on the set I surprised him by singing the song to him in front of the whole cast. I think it touched him. When we finished writing the song, I felt strongly that it might have a home with NASCAR. My first instinct was that it could be a theme song. When I realized that NASCAR didn't really have one, I began to think that maybe there was a match here. I think it taps into what makes NASCAR racing special: that thrill that anything is possible. The sport was founded by a dreamer, and it is supported by dreamers across the country. It is a uniquely American sport, and this song is dedicated to all the dreamers who still hope to get their cars off the blocks and go the distance.
