Kevin Fast pulled a 208-ton CC-177 Globemaster III transport plane 28' 10½" on Sept. 17 to set a world record for the heaviest aircraft pulled by an individual. Fast, 46, a Lutheran minister from Cobourg, Ont., performed the feat at the Canadian air force base in Trenton, Ont. The 5' 9", 285-pound clergyman has set eight other Guinness records—in truck pulling, arm wrestling and stilt walking—to raise money for children's and other charities.
"SINCE IT WAS ON A MILITARY BASE, WE HAD VERY LITTLE FLEXIBILITY AS TO HOW WE SHOT THE EVENT. I HAD TO NEGOTIATE SHOOTING FROM THE FRONT AS OPPOSED TO THE SIDE. THE MILITARY HANDLERS WERE WORRIED ABOUT US GETTING RUN OVER, SO THEY PUT US ABOUT 100 YARDS IN FRONT OF THE AIRCRAFT."
