Bethany, a senior forward at Roseville Area High, was named state player of the year after leading the Raiders to a 28-2-1 record and the Minnesota Class AA championship. She had two assists in the title game, a 4--0 win over Edina; earned all-tournament honors; and ended the season with a team-high 70 points.

Blake Ellis

BRAINTREE, MASS. > Gymnastics

Blake, a senior at Braintree High, won the vault, parallel bars, high bar, pommel horse and floor exercise to take the all-around title (51.7 points) at the state meet and help the Wamps to their 18th team championship. He won a total of 14 individual state titles in four years. The team title was the eighth for coach Dick Seibert, who retired after the season.

Corin Adams

BROOKLYN > Basketball

Adams, a senior guard at Morgan State, became the first player in school history to score 2,000 career points while getting 18 in a 73--69 win over North Carolina A&T. Her final total was 2,058. The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference player of the year, Adams also holds school records for single-season scoring (581), plus career assists (558) and steals (504).
