David, a sophomore shortstop at Westminster Christian, homered twice in a 13--5 Class 2A semifinal win, tying Florida's single-season mark (19). The next day he went 2 for 2 as the Warriors won a second straight title. Also WCS's starting quarterback, David was The Miami Herald's Class 4A-1A athlete of the year.

Caitlyn McFadden

PHOENIX, MD. > Lacrosse

McFadden, a senior midfielder at Maryland, had two goals and an assist while holding All-America attacker Katrina Dowd scoreless as the Terrapins defeated Northwestern 13--11 in the NCAA Division I title game. McFadden, a two-time Atlantic Coast Conference player of the year, was named the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament.

Obinna Nwanna

MAUMEE, OHIO > Track and Field

Nwanna, a senior at Case Western Reserve, won the decathlon at the NCAA Division III championships (7,056 points) with seven personal-best finishes over the two-day event. The school's first track and field national titlist in 20 years, Nwanna is a two-time All-America in both the decathlon and the indoor pentathlon.
