The first of a parade of Hall of Famers (including Hull and Mikita) to reach Chicago from Buffalo of the AHL, Pilote used puckhandling and toughness to help transform the moribund Blackhawks from also-rans to Stanley Cup champs.

A winner. It was no coincidence that the Blackhawks would finish atop their division during Chelios's first season with the team and then in his second reach the Stanley Cup finals for the first time in 19 years.
