Stetson, a senior pitcher at St. Edward High, struck out 16 in an 8--3 win over Elder to lead the Eagles to the state Division I championship, their second in three years. He also struck out nine and was 5 for 5 with two RBIs in a 7--6 win over Mayfield in the quarterfinals. The Pirates selected Stetson 52nd in the MLB draft.

Maddie Meyers

SEATTLE > Track and Field

Maddie, a sophomore at The Northwest School, won the inaugural Jim Ryun Dream Mile at Randall's Island in New York City with the nation's top high school outdoor time this year (4:41.93). A two-time Washington Class A cross-country titlist, she won the outdoor 1,600 and 3,200 meters at the Class A championships for the second straight year, and won the 800 as well.

Chris Ward

MCKINNEY, TEXAS > Golf

Ward, a senior at Texas Tech, shot an opening-round 64 and led wire to wire through all four rounds of the 2010 Texas Amateur Championship. He shot 270 overall to finish three under par and win by five strokes. In April, Ward became the first Red Raider golfer to win a Big 12 individual title and was later named to the all-conference team.
