The transfer of Ole Miss backup quarterback Raymond Cotton last week could open the door for disgraced former Oregon QB Jeremiah Masoli in Oxford. Rebels coach Houston Nutt initially declined to pursue Masoli, but Cotton's move has left Ole Miss with only two scholarship quarterbacks.... Clemson's ACC title hopes received a boost last week when quarterback Kyle Parker (below) said he would play this fall for the Tigers instead of signing and playing exclusively with the Colorado Rockies.... Pac-10 officials will meet on Friday to discuss how to set up divisions once Colorado and Utah begin play. The conference's biggest rivalries fall geographically (e.g., Cal-Stanford), so the Pac-10 shouldn't face as many alignment issues as the Big Ten.
