Will we see more from running back Arby Fields, who ran for 302 yards as a true freshman last season?
PF: Arby finished the spring well, but we feel that way about the whole group of running backs. We're not afraid to play more than one at a time.
What is this team's biggest strength?
PF: The linebackers. This may be the deepest group we've had.
SI: YOU'RE ENTERING YOUR FIFTH YEAR AS HEAD COACH. WHAT HAVE BEEN YOUR FAVORITE MOMENTS?
PF: THE FOUR GRADUATION CEREMONIES AND THE 27 WINS.
What has impressed you about your new starting quarterback, Dan Persa?
PF: He wills himself into every challenge. He's found a way to get back on the field. To see his poise in the Iowa game a year ago was exciting. [Persa rushed for 67 yards and threw a TD in a win.]
What's your next goal for the team?
PF: To win Big Ten championships. And that [will be] a by-product of the attitude that we take.
