ALCOA, TENN. > Football Vanderbilt, a junior running back and safety at Alcoa High, rushed for 212 yards and three touchdowns, including the winning score with 2:26 left, to lead the defending 3A state champion Tornadoes to a 35--31 victory over Maryville, the 6A runner-up in 2009. He also broke up three passes and had six tackles. In four games Vanderbilt has 548 total yards.
