SAN RAFAEL, CALIF. > Cross-country

Lucy, a senior at Marin Academy, won her second straight D-5 state championship with a personal best of 18:13 in the 5K. She finished the season undefeated in dual meets and is the first runner, male or female, to win the North Coast Section Division V four straight times. In track Lucy has won the sectional title in the 1,600 meters the last two years.

Zach Carr

CARMEL, IND. > Soccer

Carr, a senior goalkeeper at Stevens Institute of Technology, was named ESPN Academic All-American of the Year in the college division. A biomedical engineering major with a 3.92 GPA, Carr was the top-ranked keeper in D-III, allowing only six goals in 1,883 minutes. His streak of 1,333 straight scoreless minutes is the second longest in NCAA history.

Ebony Nwanebu

FAIRVIEW, TEXAS > Volleyball

Ebony, a 6'3" sophomore middle blocker at Lovejoy High, earned MVP honors in leading the Leopards past Wimberly High 3--1 for their third straight state 3A title. She led the team in kills (416) and solo blocks (159) as Lovejoy went 46--3, with victories over the eventual 4A and 5A champs. Last summer Ebony was named to the U.S. girls' youth national training team.
