Murphy, a senior guard at Grand Canyon University, surpassed the 2,000-point mark with 20 points in a 77--48 win over Hawaii at Hilo. Through Sunday she led Division II in scoring with 25.4 points per game. Murphy holds the school career scoring record, and in November she set a record for points in a game with 49 in a 120--118 win over UC San Diego.
BEMIDJI, MINN. > Curling
Fenson, a 43-year-old skip for the Bemidji Curling Club, made an extra end steal against former teammate Tyler George at the nationals in Fargo, N.D., to finish the competition with an 11--0 record and clinch his seventh national title and record-tying fifth as skip. Fenson helped the U.S. win bronze in 2006, its first and only Olympic curling medal.
SILVER SPRING, MD. > Swimming
Glasser, a Washington College senior, won three individual and two relay gold medals to be named outstanding performer at the Centennial Conference championships for the third straight year. A five-time All-America, she set five pool records and automatically qualified for NCAAs in two events, making her the school's first swimmer to appear there for four straight years.
