Zemba, a Vermont freshman competing with Killington Mountain School, took gold in dual moguls at the Junior World Freestyle Championships in Finland, and qualified for the U.S. ski team by edging the host country's Justin Penttala 18--17 in the finals. Earlier in March, Zemba was named the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association's freestyle eastern divisional MVP.
HOUSTON > Gymnastics
Browning, a junior co-captain at Iowa State, was named Big 12 gymnast of the year, one year after being forced to withdraw from the 2010 NCAA championships because of a pulmonary embolism. This year she led the Cyclones in winning 13 event titles and was the conference's highest-rated all-around competitor at the regular season's end with a score of 39.175.
PHILADELPHIA > Basketball
Jones, a 5'11" senior guard at Delaware Valley College, finished his college career by hitting 66 straight free throws to set an NCAA D-III record. Named the Freedom Conference's player of the year, Jones also set school records for points in a season (586) and free throws made (186) and led the Aggies to their first conference title and first berth in the NCAA tournament.
