MENDHAM, N.J. > Lacrosse Dykstra, a senior midfielder at Lehigh, scored four goals in a loss to Virginia Tech to break the Patriot League career record (243) and move into 10th place all time in the NCAA. She was league rookie of the year as a freshman, offensive player of the year as a sophomore and defensive player of the year as a junior. At week's end Dykstra was No. 1 in D-I scoring with 68 goals. An All-America and two-time defending Class-A state champion in the 400, O'Neal founded Spikes 4 Tykes, a program that donates used track spikes to children in his parents' native Jamaica. Cassandra Tate HAMMOND, LA. > Track and Field Tate, a junior at LSU, won her fourth straight 400-meter hurdles title, at the home-hosted Alumni Gold meet, with a time of 56.31, the second fastest in the country this season. A three-time All-America in the 4 × 400-meter relay (once outdoors and twice indoors), Tate is the reigning SEC outdoor 400-meter hurdles champion.
