THE Packers weathered ups and downs on the road to their fifth title in seven seasons.
(1) In his second year in Green Bay, running back Jim Grabowski (33) was an integral part of the offense as a blocker and contributed 466 yards rushing to go with 171 receiving, 69 of which he put up against Detroit in the opener.
(2) Bart Starr (15) missed two games in October with injuries but looked strong by the end of the month against St. Louis when, despite tossing two picks, he threw the fourth-quarter TD that sealed a 31--23 win.
(3) Jim Weatherwax (73) and his teammates made Baltimore's Johnny Unitas uncomfortable during their November meeting, though the Colts great still led his team to a comeback win by throwing two TDs in the final minutes.
(4) Against the Vikings in early December, Ben Wilson (36) scored from a yard out in a 30--27 win that avenged a Green Bay loss in mid-October. That was also the last victory of a four-game winning streak, as five interceptions and two lost fumbles over the final two games resulted in back-to-back losses for the first time since '65.
