Tour Preferred MC
"These are new. I had to get them to conform with the new groove rule. For me, at this point, I don't see a difference. I'm thinking about getting away from graphite and going back to steel shafts. My project this summer is to keep adding weight to my irons until my swing speed goes down. I figure force equals mass times acceleration, so as long as you swing at the same speed, a heavier club will hit the ball farther. So I plan to find out how heavy I can make my clubs without losing speed."

"It's always on probation. Not because I can't hit the fairway, but because I'm always looking for something that I can hit a little farther. I was never a long hitter, but I drive about the same distance I did when I played on Tour."
"It was given to me by Karsten [Solheim] in the early '70s, but it never made the first team. In the mid-'70s I put the shaft in another putter, and this head sat in a drawer in my workshop for about 20 years. When I found it, I stuck it on a driver shaft that was lying around. I've been using it for 16 years. Why? The ball goes in the hole."
