Loreen, a senior at Clovis East High, broke her 100-yard butterfly section record (55.02) at the CIF Central Section D-I championship preliminaries, taking that event and the 200-yard individual medley (2:06.21) in the finals to become the fifth swimmer in section history to win every state meet event she entered. Loreen will represent American Samoa at worlds in July.

Micah, a 6'6" senior outside hitter at Kamehameha-Kapalama High, was named state player of the year after leading the Warriors to the D-I state title with a .500 hitting average in a three-set sweep over Punahou High. Earlier this year he led the basketball team to the state title and was named Hawaii's player of the year for the second consecutive time.
ARKADELPHIA, ARK. > Track and Field, Swimming
Barito, a senior at Stevens Institute of Technology, won the 400-meter hurdles (59.49) at the D-III championships for her second NCAA title of the year; she is the only D-III female to finish the race in under a minute this season. In March she won the 50-yard freestyle swimming title (22.87) to become the school's first NCAA champion in any sport.
