BREAKOUT PLAYER

FS MARQUIS FLOWERS SOPHOMORE

Young defensive back is blossoming into a playmaker

Last season was a rebuilding year for the Wildcats' secondary, and it was vulnerable to big plays. Flowers, who lettered in 13 games as a true freshman in 2010, inherits the job as the starting free safety and has the speed and range to thwart those deep balls. Stoops compares Flowers with Arizona's 2007 Jim Thorpe Award winner, Antoine Cason.

TOP RECRUIT

RB KA'DEEM CAREY FRESHMAN

Prolific high school back has the skills to step in

Carey racked up 5,702 yards and 82 TDs rushing for Canyon del Oro High in Tucson, displaying the combination of speed and power of elite running back recruits. His presence in the backfield may help open up the play-action pass for Foles.
