LB HERMAN LATHERS JUNIOR

He missed most of spring workouts after surgery on his right shoulder last January. Lathers is not on current depth charts and is not expected to be ready for the opener. The Vols have pondered using their top returning tackler on the weak side.

A long jumper wants to be a long player

Hunter flashed big-play ability in limited action as a freshman, gaining 415 yards and scoring seven times on 16 catches, including an 80-yard TD against Mississippi. As a starter this year the 6' 4" world-class long jumper will try to make the leap to full-time producer and continue to develop a burgeoning connection with classmate Tyler Bray.
