What will ultimately decide who starts at quarterback?
KW: That quarterback position is one of leadership, and we're waiting to go through preseason and summer to see how these guys have evolved and see how their leadership has come [along]. We're not pushing the issue.
SI: HOW CONFIDENT ARE YOU IN YOUR DEFENSE?
KW: WE'VE GOT A GREAT STAFF IN PLACE. WE'VE MADE SOME CHANGES SCHEMATICALLY. I THOUGHT WE WERE VERY COMPETITIVE DURING THE SPRING. WE'VE GOT TO STOP THE RUN. YOU CAN'T DIE A SLOW DEATH BY CONSISTENTLY LETTING TEAMS RUN. AND IF WE DO STOP THE RUN, WE CAN'T GIVE UP THE BIG PLAY.
Is the receiving corps going to be your strongest position?
KW: I think the skills players can make plays for the quarterback. Last year they got a lot of touches.
How similar will your offense be to what you ran at Oklahoma?
KW: Your execution dictates what you do. I don't know what it's going to be, because each year at Oklahoma I didn't know what it was going to be.
