ENEMY lines WHAT A RIVAL COACH SAYS
"THIS OFFENSE will be a carbon copy of New England's, just without the same caliber of players. Think about it: Josh McDaniels is moving into a situation in which he gets to coordinate an offense again. He doesn't have to look at the bigger picture, which he had to do as the coach in Denver, so he can reestablish what he likes to do offensively: spread defenses out, get one-on-one matchups in the slot and run the ball on any down. He gets to be a mad scientist again.
McDaniels is going to be very good for the Rams, especially for that young quarterback, Sam Bradford. I was very impressed by Bradford when we lined up against him. You don't find too many young quarterbacks who come into the NFL who are as calm as he is, get the ball out on time and see receivers like he does. He is only going to be better this season.
Make no mistake about it: The receiving corps is the Achilles' heel of this offense. Mike Sims-Walker is a guy who's coming on. After arriving from Jacksonville, he'll probably benefit from the change of scenery, but he needs to perform this year to change people's perception of him as an underachiever.
Danny Amendola is a guy who McDaniels will be able to move around and create mismatch problems with in the slot. He'll be the Rams' version of Wes Welker.
Steven Jackson is a violent and strong runner who can hit it up inside or go the distance. I believe that this offense will benefit him because McDaniels will be able to spread defenses. ... Cadillac Williams and Jerious Norwood will see spot duty to take the pounding off of Jackson."
