THE 2011--12 GLUE GUYS

What's a glue guy? He's the player who does the little things that may not show up on the stat sheet and helps hold his team together.

G ERICK GREEN VIRGINIA TECH JUNIOR

Green's best asset is his feel for the game, which allows him to adjust how he plays depending on who is guarding him and how the game is going.

G DEXTER STRICKLAND NORTH CAROLINA JUNIOR

With all the perimeter talent in Chapel Hill this season, Strickland's value will be primarily as a defender and a passer. He led the Tar Heels in steals last year.

G TYLER THORNTON DUKE SOPHOMORE

The point guard played limited minutes behind Kyrie Irving but will offer a steady hand in a young backcourt this year. He's the Blue Devils' best on-ball defender.

G ANDRE YOUNG CLEMSON SENIOR

Diminutive (5' 9") but tough, Young was the first Tigers player to lead the league in assists-to-turnover ratio (2.55) since Grayson Marshall in 1986--87.
