Maddy, a junior goalkeeper at The Blake School, had three straight shutouts in state tournament play, including 10 saves in the final to defeat Benilde--St. Margaret's 1--0 for the Class A title and her 16th clean sheet of the year. Named all-conference, Maddy allowed just eight goals in 1,690 minutes of play for a 21-1-0 season record. A former forward, she stood in for the Red Knights' injured keeper at states in 2009 and 2010, leading the team to second- and third-place finishes, respectively.

McGivney, a 6'2", 220-pound senior linebacker and co-captain at Luther College, broke the NCAA Division III career-tackles record (531) in a 37--7 win over Cornell College. A 2010 All-America, he had nine tackles (eight solo), one sack, one interception, one pass breakup and one blocked kick to lead the Norse to the win. McGivney finished his career with 546 tackles, second alltime across all divisions. Last year he led the nation in tackles while setting the D-III single-season record (198).

Catherina, a sophomore at Kentwood High, shot a red-tee course-record seven-under-par 64 at Gold Mountain Golf Club's Cascade course and a 66 the next day to win the South Puget Sound League 4A title by 14 strokes. In July she was the AJGA champion at Centennial in Medford, Ore., and the overall female champion at the Washington Junior Golf Association tournament at Walla Walla Country Club. She is No. 43 in the Polo Golf Rankings and is fifth in her class worldwide and third in the nation.
