GOOD
1988
Rodriguez takes over as coach at Salem (W.Va.) College at age 24, becoming the youngest head coach in the country.
1990
Rodriguez takes the helm at Glenville State, where he eventually wins four straight West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles.
1997
Tulane coach Tommy Bowden hires Rodriguez as his offensive coordinator, and the Green Wave goes 12--0 in 1998.
1999
Rodriguez follows Bowden to Clemson. In 2000, QB Woody Dantzler (left) runs for 947 yards and passes for 1,691; the Tigers go 9--3.
