HOT: ROMO'S MOJO

It's back. Mercurial QB Tony Romo accounted for four TDs—all in the first half!—in Dallas's 31--15 romp over Tampa Bay last Saturday. His 20,283 career passing yards are third-most in NFL history among QBs after their first 75 starts.

NOT: CANADIENS: DRY

Montreal (13-13-7, 12th in the East) has dropped eight of 11 and last week canned coach Jacques Martin (below), despite his leading the team to the playoffs in two straight years. Why? Start with his league-worst 5-6-6 home record.

HOT: INDY RACING

Fresh off of unseating No. 1 Kentucky, Indiana jettisoned Notre Dame 69--58 last Saturday behind 21 points from paint-prowling 6'11" freshman Cody Zeller. With the win, the Hoosiers reached 10--0 for the first time since 1989--90.

NOT: BIPOLAR BEARS

Things were going so well for Chicago on Nov. 20: It had won five straight, Sam Hurd was a special teams star and Jay Cutler was healthy. Now? Four L's in a row, a heap of trouble for Hurd.... And Cutler? Even if he returns from injury, it's likely too late.

HOT: THE BIG BREESY

Yeah, Green Bay's still 13--1, but the NFC's best team might be the 11--3 Saints. Drew Brees tossed five TDs in Sunday's 42--20 win over Minnesota, and his 412 passing yards put him 304 shy of Dan Marino's single-season record, with two games left.
