Should the NHL ban fighting?

NO 99.5%

YES 0.5%

FAST FACTS

Only one player indicated that fighting should be banned.... In an SI Facebook poll, 90% of respondents were opposed to a ban.... The call to stop fighting, advocated by figures from USA Hockey's chief medical officer to Ralph Nader, stems largely from the deaths last year of three former enforcers (two by reported suicide; one by accidental drug overdose).... Based on 2011--12 stats at hockeyfights.com, the number of fights is at a five-year low (.45 per game).... In a separate poll, SI asked whom players most wanted to fight. The Canucks' Maxim Lapierre (13%), the Rangers' Sean Avery (10%) and the Penguins' Matt Cooke (5%) led the vote-getting.
