MATT KEMP, DODGERS
Kemp's goal for 2012 is to go 50--50, but the Dodgers say that another near 40--40 season will be plenty. "There's a lot of guys that have had a good season," says manager Don Mattingly. "The great ones put it together like that all the time."
CLAYTON KERSHAW, DODGERS
Unlike Kemp, Kershaw is not looking to top 2011; replicating a season in which he led the NL in wins, ERA, strikeouts and WHIP would be just fine. "That's the plan, we'll see how it goes," he says. Together, he and Kemp give L.A. the West's best pitcher and hitter.
BUSTER POSEY, GIANTS
"He changed their whole team [in 2010]," says Mattingly. "Last year, when he was out, it changed 'em too." Posey's broken leg confirmed for the Giants what they had already suspected: They're sunk without him.
