ENEMY lines WHAT A RIVAL COACH SAYS
"THIS OFFENSE was waiting to explode, and it finally did last season. All the Lions needed was for Matthew Stafford to stay healthy, and once he did, they really took off. This is going to sound crazy, but assuming he avoids injury again, this offense is only going to get better.
Stafford makes this unit go. He's a much more polished quarterback than he was just a couple of years ago. The best thing that happened to him this off-season was the team's drafting tackle Riley Reiff, which will help solidify the pass protection.
Of course it helps to have the best receiver in the universe, Calvin Johnson. It doesn't matter how well you cover or double-team him, he will simply outjump defenders for the ball. I'm having nightmares just thinking about him.
Titus Young has a lot of improvements to make, but the speed is there. I bet the coaches use him much more this season.... Veteran Nate Burleson is underrated. He does the dirty work underneath. But with Young catching more balls, I doubt that Burleson has the same year he did last season.
Tight end Brandon Pettigrew is getting better and better. If you overcommit to Johnson's side, Pettigrew will hurt you, especially in the red zone because of his size.
This offense only runs the ball to keep defenses honest. I hate to see Jahvid Best have to deal with concussions because he's a dangerous playmaker when he's in there."
