The quickest way to derail a fantasy season is to have an early-round pick fall far shy of expectations. To help you avoid that fate, we've identified 15 potential failures

14 LeGarrette BLOUNT

BUCCANEERS RB

SINCE WE'RE talking about the Bucs, new coach Greg Schiano favored do-everything backs such as Ray Rice at Rutgers, so it's little surprise that Tampa Bay traded up to take Boise State's Doug Martin. That leaves Blount—a one-dimensional power runner whose total yards and yards per carry declined in 2011—on the outs, relegated to the role of late-game clock-killer.

15 Rashard MENDENHALL

STEELERS RB

PITTSBURGH COACH Mike Tomlin expects Mendenhall, who tore his right ACL in Week 17, to play this season but adds that the running back is likely to start 2012 on the PUP list. Even before the injury, he struggled as the offense became more centered on Ben Roethlisberger & Co. If you draft Mendenhall at all, you're drafting him too high.
