[ON THE DECLINE] How valuable is Carpenter to Miami? Since 2009 he's the sixth-best scorer among kickers, and amazingly, he'll earn the same salary ($2.5 million) this season as quarterback Matt Moore. Carpenter is as consistent as they come, but with the possibility of rookie Ryan Tannehill starting at quarterback and the lack of receiving weapons, there are better options.

There could be a kicking controversy with Gang Green. After re-signing Nick Folk in March, New York inked Brown in May after he was released by the Rams. Over their careers Brown (80.9%) has been slightly more accurate than Folk (77.9%), but Folk is six years younger. Stay away from this situation until someone wins the job out of training camp.
