One of six players in the country to rank in the top 10 in forced fumbles (he had five) and top 25 in sacks (nine) last year, the 6' 2", 265-pound Maponga will be one of the most disruptive defensive ends not only in the conference but also in all of college football.
QB CASEY PACHALL JUNIOR
Pachall (6' 5", 226) had little trouble replacing Andy Dalton and breaking his records for completions (228), percentage (66.5) and yardage (2,921) in 2011, Pachall's first year starting. With most of his passing options back, he should be among the top QBs in the Big 12.
LB KENNY CAIN SENIOR
A second-team all-conference selection as a junior, Cain led TCU in tackles (72) despite sitting out two games with an ankle injury. Now he's the lone experienced upperclassman in a depleted linebacking corps.
