Can you replace your top two playmakers, Marvin McNutt and Marcus Coker?
KF: We're young at running back, but I think we'll be capable back there. Keenan Davis is our most experienced receiver coming back, and Kevonte Martin-Manley had a really impressive spring.
What led you to hire Greg Davis as the new offensive coordinator?
KF: I [wanted] someone flexible enough to adjust to the personnel we have. You have to do that in coaching, especially in college.
Are there any position groups that you expect to step up?
KF: Traditionally we've had great tight ends, and [this year] C.J. Fiedorowicz and Zach Derby had good springs. Those two guys should help us increase production.
With such a young team, what message do you emphasize?
KF: That we really have to be detailed. And we're behind right now. It's one of those years where we can't afford any days off. We've really gotta be on target.
SI: IS THERE AN UPSIDE TO SO MUCH YOUTH?
KF: WE CAN IMPROVE FASTER THAN YOU NORMALLY WOULD. THAT'S EXCITING. IT'S JUST A MATTER OF GAINING CONFIDENCE.
