All nine positions in one nine-inning Class A game last Saturday, Indians minor league utilityman Justin Toole, 25. Toole's feat was part of a Toole Time promotion for his club, the Carolina Mudcats, whose manager, Edwin Rodriguez, thought of the gimmick earlier this season when Toole mentioned he could play anywhere. Toole has bounced up and down in the Indians' system this year, but when he returned to the Mudcats on Aug. 14, Rodriguez told him to practice catching and playing rightfield and centerfield, the only positions he hadn't yet played professionally. Toole spent the first inning in rightfield, then moved across the outfield before going to first base and working his way around the infield. He caught the eighth inning and pitched the ninth, allowing two home runs but striking out two to close out a 4--2 win over the Salem Red Sox.
