JESSICA HEMBREE

TAHLEQUAH, OKLA. > CROSS-COUNTRY

Jessica, a senior at Tahlequah High, won Oklahoma's 5A state title for the third time, with an 11:48 finish on the two-mile course—14 seconds ahead of the runner-up. She came back from a broken left tibia suffered during last year's state meet, which caused her to collapse while in the lead just 50 meters from the finish line. Jessica, who won the state 1,600- and 3,200-meter track titles in 2011, returned to running this fall after surgery to affix a metal plate to the stress-fractured bone.

KELVIN TAYLOR

BELLE GLADE, FLA. > FOOTBALL

Kelvin, a senior running back at Glades Day School, ran for 201 yards and four TDs on 17 carries in a 55--20 win over Summit Christian School to become the unofficial alltime national rushing leader. With 11,418 career yards, including 1,584 as an eighth-grader, he surpassed the mark set by Ken Hall of Sugarland, Texas, from 1950 to '53. The National Federation of High Schools only recognizes four-year high school career records, but Kelvin's yardage—11,621 through Sunday—is considered a Florida record.

CASEY DANIELSON

OSCEOLA, WIS. > GOLF

Casey, a senior at Osceola High, shot a Day 1 state-tournament-record six-under par 66 and a two-day total of 139 to win her fourth straight individual Division 2 title by 14 strokes. She is Wisconsin's second female golfer to win a title four years in a row, matching the feat of her older sister, Lindsay (FACES, Dec. 15, 2008). In September, Casey helped the U.S. win the Junior Ryder Cup and competed for the Duke of York Young Champions Trophy at Royal Troon in Scotland. She will play at Stanford.
