Tyler, a 6'1", 175-pound senior running back at Clairton High, had 17 carries for 121 yards and one TD in a 37--7 win over Neshannock High in the Western Pennsylvania Class A semifinals. The victory extended the Bears' nation-best winning streak to 59 games and tied the state record. Tyler, who has 107 career TDs and 5,167 yards through Sunday, helped Clairton to its fourth straight WPIAL crown and third straight Class A state title last year.

CARLY RAY GOLDSTEIN

CORAL SPRINGS, FLA. > GOLF

Carly Ray, a senior at Coral Glades High, shot a four-under-par 140 at Harbor Hills Country Club in Lady Lakes, Fla., to win the 2A state title. With a 71 and a 69 in the two-day tournament, she was the only golfer in the field of 95 to finish under par on both days. Carly Ray, who has won 96 career tournaments, became the youngest player, at age 12, to reach match play in the 80-year history of the Doherty Cup, an international women's amateur championship. She will compete next year at LSU.

ROCKFORD, MICH. > WATER POLO

Corey, a senior goalie and co-captain at Rockford High, had seven saves to help the Rams defeat Ann Arbor's Huron High 14--6 for the program's ninth state title. He had 331 saves this season, including 25 while allowing 11 goals in the three-game state tournament and helping Rockford to a 48--0 record and coach Dave McWatters to his 600th career victory. A two-time USA Water Polo Academic All-America, Corey competed in the Junior Olympics with the Rockford Aquatic Club for the past two years.
