HOT: DEVILISHLY GOOD

Last Thursday wasn't that bad for Dukies. First, the nation's No. 2 recruit (and former SI cover boy) Jabari Parker announced he's Durham-bound next season. Then, that night, the Blue Devils pounded Elon 76--54 to run their home nonconference winning streak to an even 100.

NOT: PUCK STOPS HERE

Don't miss the NHL? You're not alone. A recent poll in Canada (Canada!) revealed that 58% of its population has "no interest" in whether the season is salvaged. If it isn't, then more than 10% of games in commissioner Gary Bettman's 20-year reign will have been canceled.

HOT: FOSTER THE PEOPLE

Arian Foster has wrapped up his third consecutive 1,000-yard season. To give thanks, the Texans' running back gave each of his O-linemen a Segway for Christmas. Said Foster, "I feel like all of them big hogs up front can enjoy the joy that I get from riding my Segway."

NOT: GUNNERS: GONE?

Arsenal was knocked out of the Capital One Cup on Dec. 11 by fourth-division Bradford City, and its chances in the Champions League took a turn for the worse last Thursday when it drew 2011--12 runner-up Bayern Munich, which was second in the group stage with 15 goals.

HOT: MICHIGAN POSSIBLE

No. 2--ranked Michigan rattled off 12 straight wins to start the season for the first time in 27 years. Credit the famous sons: Tim Hardaway Jr. and Glenn Robinson III. But don't forget Trey Burke (above); the nation's top PG is pouring in 17.4 points per game with 7.1 assists.
