This two-piece ball is designed to help players with moderate swing speeds who don't generate a lot of spin and therefore sacrifice distance. According to Bridgestone, not only does this ball add yards off the tee, but its urethane cover also provides a level of greenside control typically not associated with a two-piece ball.
Designed for golfers looking to reduce spin, this three-piece model has a lower-compression core than its predecessor and a Surlyn cover that is 3% softer. Both of those features help increase launch angle, while the spin-reducing mantle layer helps keep drives from ballooning.
The core of this three-piece ball has been made firmer than its predecessor and remains firmer than the e6, which means it should produce higher ball speeds for more distance. Like the other e-series balls, the e7 features an updated dual-dimple outer cover (made of Surlyn). The new 330-dimple pattern allowed Bridgestone to make the dimples 6% larger and provide 2.5% more surface coverage. The inner dimple helps to reduce drag for more speed off the tee, while the outer dimple flattens the landing trajectory for more roll in the fairway.
J40 DUAL POCKET CAVITY IRONS
Designed for better players, this set features compact heads forged from 1020 carbon steel to enhance feel. The blade on the short irons is taller to help produce a more penetrating ball flight and aid control. The leading edge, toe and heel are beveled to improve turf interaction.
