Chloe, a freshman at Bellevue West High, won all-class gold medals in the 100 and 200 meters at the state meet and earned the Class A long jump title with a leap of 18'9". She won the 100 by .20 of a second in 12.00, the eighth-best finish in Nebraska history, and tied a 20-year-old Class A and state-meet record in the 200 (24.52). Chloe, who is also a point guard on the Thunderbirds' basketball team, helped Bellevue West to the Class A title game and was an All-Metro honorable mention.

Gage, a senior at University High, beat Alta Loma High's Victor Brown 6--4, 6--0 to seal his second straight undefeated season and become the first player in 59 years to win three consecutive CIF-Southern Section titles. In April he was the first player to win a third Ojai Tennis Tournament championship since Bobby Riggs 77 years ago. A month later Gage helped the Trojans win their fourth straight CIF-SS title and the inaugural SoCal Regional crown. The USTA's top-ranked junior, he will play at UCLA.
JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA > ROWING
Bode, a junior at Ohio State, rowed stroke seat for the first varsity eight, leading the crew to third place in 6:23.19 at the Division I championships in Indianapolis to clinch the national team title, the program's first. With wins contributed by the second varsity eight and first varsity four, the Buckeyes had 126 points to defeat Cal by two. Last month Bode led her boat to victory at the Big Ten championships, where Ohio State also took team gold. She was named the Big Ten rower of the year.
