? I've got nothing new to say about the Super Bowl, so let's bring in Shannon Hughes, who's among the final four remaining contestants on NBC's reality show, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model Search. "I'm undefeated with my playoff picks, so I'm doing pretty well so far," she tells the Daily Blog from her home in Mesquite, Tex. "As a Cowboys fan I can't root for Philly because they're in our division, so I'll take New England. 35-14."

? It's been a lousy winter for reality TV -- I don't think I've watched anything good on the tube since Ivana took off her pants on The Apprentice 2 -- so it's nice to see The Apprentice 3 bounce back so strong in its third season. (Is it me or does Danny, the utterly clueless guitarist from Connecticut, look like Michael Moore after a few gastric bypass surgeries?) Featuring more cursing than a George Carlin monologue and a full menu of colorful characters, The Donald's show is -- who knew? -- Must See TV once again. Coupled with the return of the always exemplary American Idol (Did you catch Toni Braxton's "cousin's" audition a few weeks back? Classic) and Landon's bizarre meltdown on The Real World, trash TV, I'm happy to say, is back strong in 2005.

? DVD pick of the week: It's been almost two months, but if you haven't, check out Infernal Affairs. Warning: This movie is subtitled (and I generally think that well-hyped foreign films rarely deliver), but Affairs, one of Asia's biggest box office hits in recent years, is great entertainment with a brilliant premise: a mole in the police department and an undercover cop in a gang share the same objective -- to find out who's the mole, and who's the cop. See it.

Same time, same place next week.
