Faces of China

Photographer Gérard Rancinan shot nearly 900 of China's Olympic hopefuls over the last three years during visits to sports schools in the cities of Beijing, Shanghai and Shenyang. The athletes ranged in age from roughly eight to 30 and represented almost every Olympic sport. The full portfolio comes together as a portrait of China's sports future and is currently on display in Paris. Here are some of our favorites.
