The 21-year old with six games of NHL experience became the Caps' No. 1 goalie in Game 2 of their recent first-round series against New York. Aggressive and athletic, he backstopped a seven-game comeback win and kept building his legend with a breathtaking diving save on Sidney Crosby in a 3-2 win over Pittsburgh in Game 1 of the second round. If he continues his superb play, Varlamov will join the ranks of other rookies who have shined on the postseason stage.
