OFFENSE: Steve Dils, a senior quarterback at Stanford, completed 32 of 51 passes for a Pac-10-record 430 yards and tied a conference mark with five touchdown throws as the Cardinals defeated Washington State 43-27.

OFFENSE: The Throwin' Samoan, Jack Thompson of Washington State, hit on 16 of 34 passes for 271 yards and three touchdowns and ran 13 times for 54 yards and three more TDs as the Cougars beat Arizona State 51-26.

DEFENSE: Jerry Robinson, a sophomore linebacker, made 14 unaided tackles, assisted on seven others and ran back an interception 78 yards for a touchdown to spark UCLA to an uphill 38-20 win over stubborn Stanford.

OFFENSE: California's senior Quarterback Steve Bartkowski showed Washington State the form that has made him the Pacific Eight's top passer and a likely first-round draft choice by completing 21 of his 30 attempts...
