BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) -- Evgeniya Radanova of Bulgaria broke the 500-meter short track speed skating world record by nearly two-tenths of a second Saturday, winning her World Cup race in 44.690 seconds.

Radanova beat out South Korea's Choi Min-Kyung and American Amy Peterson, both of whom also broke the old mark with times of 44.762 and 44.844 seconds.

Radanova's also broke the 1,500-meter record on Friday.

In the men's competition, Italy's Fabio Carta won the 500-meter event 42.468 seconds.
