NAGANO, Japan -- Marianne Dubuc of Princeville, Quebec won the bronze medal in singles at a junior Grand Prix figure skating competition in Japan.

The 15-year-old was leading after her short program, but fourth-place marks in her free skate dropped her to third.

Jennifer Kirk of the United States won the event and Yukari Nakano of Japan came in second.

The ice dance team Brenda Key of Midland, Ontario and Ryan Smith of Orillia, Ontario placed fifth.
